Important Notice: Keyspace Service Sunset

Service End Date: January 15, 2025

We’re announcing the discontinuation of keyspace cloud. To ensure a smooth transition, we’ve added functionality to export all your data to Bitwarden, a trusted alternative open source password manager.

What You Need to Know

We’ve implemented a comprehensive data export feature that converts your Keyspace data into Bitwarden-compatible JSON format. This ensures you can seamlessly transfer your:

Exported Data Details

Login Items

  • Usernames
  • Passwords (including complete password history)
  • TOTP secrets and backup codes
  • Associated URIs (website addresses)

Payment Cards

  • Cardholder names
  • Card numbers
  • Expiration dates
  • Security codes (CVV/CVC)

Secure Notes

  • Note titles (derived from the first 20 characters of content)
  • Complete note content
  • Favorite status preserved

Important Limitations

Please be aware of the following limitations when exporting:

  • Note content is limited to 7,000 characters due to Bitwarden’s restrictions
  • TOTP backup codes will appear in the notes field of each login item, as Bitwarden doesn’t have a dedicated field for these

How to Export Your Data

  1. Visit https://app.keyspace.cloud or open your Keyspace Chrome or Firefox plugin.
  2. Make sure you are running the latest version (1.0.6) you can check this in “Settings” > App tab > App version
  3. Scan the QR code with your phone to log in
  4. Click “Settings” at the bottom of the navigation bar
  5. Click “Export to Bitwarden” - this will download a file named keyspace-export--bitwarden-format.json

Next Steps

  1. Import your downloaded JSON file into Bitwarden following their import instructions. Make sure to select the import file format type as Bitwarden (json).
  2. Verify all your data has been transferred correctly
  3. Delete the Keyspace Bitwarden export file (keyspace-export--bitwarden-format.json) as it contains your vault data in plain text.

We recommend exporting your data as soon as possible to ensure a smooth transition to your new password manager.
