Important Notice: Keyspace Service Sunset
Service End Date: January 15, 2025
We’re announcing the discontinuation of keyspace cloud. To ensure a smooth transition, we’ve added functionality to export all your data to Bitwarden, a trusted alternative open source password manager.
What You Need to Know
We’ve implemented a comprehensive data export feature that converts your Keyspace data into Bitwarden-compatible JSON format. This ensures you can seamlessly transfer your:
Exported Data Details
Login Items
- Usernames
- Passwords (including complete password history)
- TOTP secrets and backup codes
- Associated URIs (website addresses)
Payment Cards
- Cardholder names
- Card numbers
- Expiration dates
- Security codes (CVV/CVC)
Secure Notes
- Note titles (derived from the first 20 characters of content)
- Complete note content
- Favorite status preserved
Important Limitations
Please be aware of the following limitations when exporting:
- Note content is limited to 7,000 characters due to Bitwarden’s restrictions
- TOTP backup codes will appear in the notes field of each login item, as Bitwarden doesn’t have a dedicated field for these
How to Export Your Data
- Visit https://app.keyspace.cloud or open your Keyspace Chrome or Firefox plugin.
- Make sure you are running the latest version (1.0.6) you can check this in “Settings” > App tab > App version
- Scan the QR code with your phone to log in
- Click “Settings” at the bottom of the navigation bar
- Click “Export to Bitwarden” - this will download a file named
keyspace-export--bitwarden-format.json
Next Steps
- Import your downloaded JSON file into Bitwarden following their import instructions. Make sure to select the import file format type as Bitwarden (json).
- Verify all your data has been transferred correctly
- Delete the Keyspace Bitwarden export file (
keyspace-export--bitwarden-format.json) as it contains your vault data in plain text.
We recommend exporting your data as soon as possible to ensure a smooth transition to your new password manager.
